A Look Back at Watches & Wonders 2018 – When Geneva Met Miami
Here’s a full rundown of the first-ever Watches & Wonders held on US soil including some of our favorite photos from the weekend.
I’ll be honest, we didn’t quite know what to expect from Watches & Wonders. Just a few weeks removed from SIHH, the FHH reconvened the press and brands (21 to be exact) in the Miami Design District for a weekend of horological exploration and discovery. Heading to Miami, we knew that regardless of the outcome, we were going to have a memorable time.

For the inaugural US edition of Watches & Wonders, Italian jewelry and watch manufacture Bulgari brought out the Diva Finissima Minute Repeater. Part of the brand’s Divas’ Dream collection and introduced just weeks prior at SIHH 2018. Making its first official US appearance under the bright sunlight of southern Florida, the watch was welcomed by collectors throughout the brand’s Miami Design District boutique. For this occasion, we couldn’t be late since Mr. Guido Terreni would be presenting the watch himself!

Over President’s Day weekend, collectors of everything high end converged in Miami, Florida for the inaugural Watches & Wonder. Organized by the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie and the Miami Design District, the event brings to the US the hottest timepieces from 2018, including many unveiled in January at Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH). It also intersects with the Miami Design District Concours and the Miami Yacht Show.

TAG Heuer’s vintage focus shifts into high gear at Watches & Wonders.
For 2018, La Chaux-de-Fonds watchmaker TAG Heuer is presenting a US tour of their Museum in Motion exhibition. The traveling exhibition of vintage HEUERs kicked off this weekend at Watches & Wonders in the Miami Design District and will tour the US for most of 2018. Including stops in 10 different cities where the timepieces will be on display in TAG Heuer boutiques.

The moment we touched down at Miami international, I knew this trip would be different. Over a thousand miles away from our concrete jungle of New York. We were surrounded by resplendent pastel colors and the art deco architecture of Miami. It was hard to anticipate what we were getting ourselves into. Just a few weeks removed from SIHH, Watchonista was headed back to the fold to view some of our favorite pieces from the eponymous show.
